Additional information about transcripts is in this document. BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Attention to Detail-review procedures to protect against unauthorized access to systems or networks. Customer Service-coordinate network security requirements with customers to ensure they are met. Oral Communication-inform management of progress toward meeting network security objectives. Problem Solving-conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities. AND Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes Installing, configuring, and operating network security devices. Researching and identifying information technology system vulnerabilities. Identifying potential security risks; and isolating potential incidents with a recommended solution. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education:
Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, in Information Technology. OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
